The « 5 Million Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina » association is a non-profit, nongovernmental organization with no political, religious, or ethnic connotations.
It was originally launched as an idea and project on the initiative of the founder and initiator Edo Sabanagic. From 2020 to 2021, this idea and vision were supported by the professionals from different industries and vocations, who continue to volunteer their time and expertise in widening the scope of 5MFBH. 5MFBH officially started in Paris in 2022, where it was also originally registered.
The association primary activities are widening and strenghtenig the network, with a mutual cooperation and exchange with Bosnian and Herzegovina, focusing especially on connection with France, European Union and Bosnian and Herzegovina; support of activities in a spheres of trade, tourisam, culture and sports. Furthermore, the main focus and goal will be to establish meaningful connections that will bridge Bosnia and Herzegovina and European organisations, as well as individulas that have and support same intersts as the 5MFBH Assoaiation. One of the essential goals is defending and advocating the core European values and supproting the notion of Bosnia and Herzegovina becoming a member of the European Union
The following four values are central to all 5MFBH's goals:
Networking
Strengthening and networking of the diaspora and individuals without any political, national, or religious connotation and expanding the strategic partnership to diaspora organizations and individuals globally.
Responsibility
Strengthening the identity of BiH as a milestone in the cooperation and development of BiH. To create a sense of responsibility towards the homeland.
Cooperation
Cooperation, assistance, dialogue, and interaction to promote each individual, will result in strengthening the overall structure of the diaspora and create a basis for stronger and more effective action.
Moral Values
Nurturing and returning to the main values of BiH societies: selfless commitment to the welfare of the community, assistance, cooperation and support for self-determination, perseverance, orientation towards a common goal, and the value of work, as main characteristics of BiH individuals.
The Vision: A diaspora network, strengthened by partnerships that are a major step in the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the global level that strengthens the values of Bosnia and Herzegovina and reinforces the role of each individual, organization, partner, institution, project, or image abroad and at home.
The initial idea of the «5 Million Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina »association is to present Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bosnians and Herzegovinians as a country of creative people.
The Mission: The establishment of the «5 Million Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina »association and if necessary other branches in the European Union, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the world through the efforts of each individual, professional, or volunteer is intended to establish coordinated and networking organizations of the diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina worldwide, as well as individuals as an important link in the overall vision of the association to build trust between the country of origin and the diaspora.
By creating an online platform, the «5 Million Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina »association will unite all friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world with the creation of several branches in 15 countries with the largest diaspora, bringing together people who have a direct and indirect link with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
